Who might benefit from speech language pathology?
– Speech disorders such as producing sounds (stuttering, voice, resonance)
– Language disorders (receptive or expressive language).
– Social communication disorders
– Cognitive-communication disorders
– Swallowing disorders (dysphagia) are feeding and swallowing difficulties, which may follow an illness, surgery, stroke, or injury.
– Need for Aural rehabilitation for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing.
– Need augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems for individuals with severe expressive and/or language comprehension disorders
– Learning to communicate more effectively (e.g., work on accent modification or other forms of communication enhancement).
How do I get my child services?
Please talk to your child’s pediatrician or specialty doctor about your concerns. A referral can be sent to our office from your child’s physician. An evaluation will be completed by one of our trained therapists and recommendations will be determined at that time.
